I started this website as a project assignment for TechBridge's Technology Career front end development program.
I'm the girl behind the code, a northeast Georgia native. I've always loved creating, and as a first generation college student, I was unsure of what direction to take. I found myself in a career that didn't suit me. I researched how to combine creativity and tech, which led me to discovering UX/UI design and front end development. After a few life changes and many nights of self-reflection, I decided to pursue front end development.
Here's to me trying to stop living a life bound by limitations, and here's to me being the least comfortable. When you're uncomfortable, transformations begin to take shape.
I can't say no to cake decorating, wedding, and home decor shows, coffee (only because of cream and sugar), chai lattes, good brunch, and warm weather. I'm a sucker for aesthetically pleasing things.
2017 Graduate
summa cum laude
2020 Graduate
My time in undergraduate and graduate school afforded me numerous opportunities to learn and grow a plethora of skills. A few of the soft transferrable skills, specific to my studies in speech-language pathology, include: verbal and written communication, active listening, critical thinking, decision making, adaptability, and empathy.
TechBridge's front end development program has introduced me to and allowed me to practice HTML, CSS, Bootstrap, and JavaScript.

I thank my paternal grandparents for my love of travel. They enjoyed packing the explorer every chance they could to make a road trip happen. My earliest memories are of sitting in the backseat as my papa tapped the steering wheel to the beat of the music playing and my granny held a map to make sure we were headed in the right direction. Those road trips opened my eyes, as a small town girl with odds stacked against her, and the more I traveled, the more I wanted to see.
I still travel, though differently and less often. But I hope to change this in the future.
You can check out the map below that highlights the states and countries I've visited.
Art has many mental health benefits. Drawing takes my mind off of everyday life and provides a relaxing distraction. My love - and I guess to say my skill - for drawing stems from my maternal grandmother, my "bigma", who helped raise me. We would spend hours drawing and coloring.
I hear those in web dev encourage others to have a "why", and my bigma is my WHY. I would not be who I am and where I am without her love and guidance. Sadly, she passed away unexpectedly in 2020. When things get challenging, I think of her, of how she would want me to persevere and continue to be the woman she raised.
At the start of the pandemic, with a lot of time on my hands, I thought it'd be nice to try my hand at embroidery. I watched Youtube videos on beginner stitches and purchased an embroidery kit.
To my surprise, I did better than I expected. I enjoyed finding another creative avenue, and I'm most proud of my embroidery of Frida Kahlo (1st piece pictured).
This is a cup of chai (or coffee) I created in class under the instruction of one of TechBridge's TAs.
CSS art is an area I would like to explore once I have a stronger foundation.
